My Recent Projects

2002 - 2003 Learned Indonesian.
2004 - 2006 Conducted 6 survey expeditions in the Babar islands to determine the strongest languages     
                   and holistic development needs.
2006 - 2011 Learning the unwritten indigenous language of Tela-Masbuar (Ethnologue code tvm).
2006 - 2011 Trained 10 Tela adults in recording, transcribing and translating native authored traditional 
                   and contemporary narratives.
2006 - 2011 Recorded, transcribed and translated 4+ hours of natural Tela oral narrative.
2007 - 2010 Planted 4 church libraries in which to host youth groups.
2009            Translated 10 oral Bible stories into Indonesian, now in vibrant use by an urban church on 
                   the island of New Guinea.
2010            Planted 2 Tela youth groups.
2010            Founded a micro-forestry business.
2010            Installed Babar's first internet portal at bishop's office.
2010            Surveyed sago cake production in the Babar village of Yatoke and then consulted for the 
                   Yatoke village women to help them establish a cooperative. 
2010            Founded Tela oral Bible story translation team.
2010            Trained 10 Tela teens to use computer.
2010 - 2011 Trained 5 Tela adults in oral Bible translation.
2010 - 2011 Began translating oral Bible stories in the Tela language.
2009 - 2011 Held 3 oral Bible story telling contests for teens in the Tela tribal language.

In Planning:
July 2011    Will hold 3 Oral Bible story telling contests in 12 tribal languages and the language of 
                   wider communication, Melayu for teens from 56 villages.
